This morning Mark and I were “talking shop” for about 10 minutes until we realised we needed to down tools and STOP IT!
We were talking work but our heads and our hearts weren’t really in it.
We were going through the motions of what we (mostly I) thought we should do/needed to do.
It can be so easy to get caught up taking life seriously all the time (and doing doing doing) that we forget to stop and just CHILL OUT!
To calm the mind from racing
To have fun
To enjoy life
So… we did.
We put our computers down.
We sat back…
and just switched off from the habit of “doing”.
We chilled out.
Mark did his own thing and I had a bath.
In a culture that values action and achievement we become conditioned to thinking we always need to be doing, setting goals, taking action, achieving…
Because if we aren’t “doing” we seem to think we are wasting our time.
Be kind to you this weekend
Give yourself the space to just BE you
P.s. If you want a reminder of how to Just BE, watch children playing. They are wonderful teachers of joy, presence and living in the moment 🌟😊
