Learning to “TURN OFF” and “TUNE IN”
Ten years ago I turned off the radio in my car.
I remember driving to work one morning listening to the radio thinking “just STOP TALKING”.
So… Rather than continue to tune into others I made a conscious decision to drive to and from work in SILENCE.
“Ahhh the PEACE and Personal EMPOWERMENT from #1 easy decision”
My car was old so no CD player and at that time blu tooth and hands free wasn’t available yet.
Sometimes I listened to a tape (very old school!) to listen to music, but mostly I drove in silence.
And… I began to TUNE IN to me.
Ten years on and it’s normal for me to drive in silence. Although with a newer car and blu tooth there are a lot more options, so if I want I can choose to use my time in the car to listen and learn by putting on a podcast (but these days I’m very discerning about what and who I tune into).
We all “know it”…
In this time in history we are SUPER-CONNECTED through our phones and continuously bombarded by advertising messages, everyone else’s opinions and negative news stories.
Unfortunately, many/most simply accept this as “normal” and “how it is”, but we forget that we have a CHOICE.
We can stop the NUMBING (because numbing is what we are doing by constantly surrounding ourselves by the noise of others).
We can TURN OFF the radio, TURN OFF the TV and put down our phones. It’s all a choice.
We can then begin to tune back into ourselves.
We can hear our THOUGHTS.
We can hear our HEART speaking to us.
We can tune in to our SOUL and our TRUTH.
It’s all a choice.
Then… once you turn off and begin tuning in, it’s then time to learn how to breathe…
